SHOWER 2025
조 이솝 Leesop Cho

Leesop Cho’s (b. 1994) work is driven by a questioning of societal norms. From his perspective, he assumes the role of an outsider or adopts an erotic gaze toward beings that inherently embody this position. These figures are not illuminated or framed for the artist’s own purpose, but rather emerge in a state of “being with”—existing alongside them on an equal plane. His work also reinterprets the sexuality between human and non-human beings, as well as the complexities of nature. Through narratives of plants and the body, his work queerifies nature, challenging heteronormative discourses surrounding the relationship between humans and nature, as well as sexuality, while simultaneously opening up new possibilities.
