Yonsok Yi is an artist based in Seoul. His practice revisits and diverges from painting to construct a terrain of deliberate instability, often intersecting with other media such as cinema, craft, and music. Yi’s canvas constellations appear highly manipulated, cryptic, and at times knowingly deceptive—elaborating on beliefs once held through ceremonies and jaded symbols.

이연석은 회화에서 출발하여 회화로부터 이탈하는 과정을 통해 의도적으로 불안정한 지형을 구축해 나가는 작업을 선보이고 있습니다. 그의 작업은 종종 영화, 공예, 음악 등 다른 매체와 교차하면서 진행되며, 조작되고 암시적이며 때로는 의도적으로 기만적인 회화적 별자리들을 구성합니다. 이는 한때 신념으로 받아들여졌던 제의와 상징들의 쇠락한 형식을 재가공하는 방식으로 전개됩니다.
