Yooyun Yang is a painter known for dark, atmospheric works that explore emotional states and existential solitude. Often obscuring faces and focusing on quiet, intimate moments, her paintings evoke a strong psychological depth. Yang has held solo exhibitions in Seoul at Chapter II, Amado Art Space/Lab, Gallerylux, OCI Museum of Art, and Ccot+Incubator, as well as at Gallery Bundo in Daegu and Gallery SoSo in Paju. In 2024, she had a solo exhibition at Blindspot Gallery, Hong Kong, and participated in group exhibitions at Andrew Kreps Gallery (New York), Thaddaeus Ropac (Seoul), and Ulsan Art Museum. Notably, she was included in the 58th Carnegie International (2022) and the 8th ChongkundangYesuljisang (2021), and has exhibited at MMCA Cheongju and Arko Art Center in Seoul.
양유연은 감정의 상태와 존재론적 고독을 탐구하는 어두운 분위기의 회화로 잘 알려진 작가다. 인물의 얼굴을 지우거나 사적인 순간을 포착한 듯한 화면을 통해 강한 심리적 깊이를 자아낸다. 서울의 챕터투, 아마도예술공간/랩, 갤러리룩스, OCI미술관, 꽃+인큐베이터, 대구의 갤러리분도, 파주의 갤러리소소 등에서 개인전을 개최했으며, 2024년에는 홍콩의 블라인드스팟 갤러리에서 개인전을 열었다. 뉴욕의 Andrew Kreps Gallery, 서울의 타데우스로팍, 울산시립미술관 등의 단체전에 참여했고, 제58회 카네기 인터내셔널(2022), 제8회 종근당예술지상(2021), 국립현대미술관 청주관, 아르코미술관 등 다수 기관에서 전시했다.
